Design proposed in Giurgiu downtown, the 35-rooms hotel adds a distinct urban character to its surroundings. The project proposes a volumetric composition that differentiates hosted functions. The ground floor volume accommodates the reception and the restaurant being, at the same time, the glass pedestal of the 4-storey accommodation volume. These two main volumes are highlighted by the vertical circulation that connects them through constructive elements that respond both to aesthetics of the architectural object and to the optimal functional use of the interior.
The facades’ approach enhances the urban features of the project by combining clear shapes, contrasting chromatics and a harmonious ratio between solid and void. The exterior elements faithfully reflect the indoor features, highlighting both scale and functionality. Hotel rooms are presented with small-dimensional gaps in the tectonic facade of the accommodation volume, while common spaces, like hallways, the lobby and restaurant receive plenty of glazed spaces where the void prevails.
